Preview & First-Time Buyers

Attending the preview

An informed bidder is a confident bidder. Whenever possible, plan to attend the auction preview which is buzzing with info on the upcoming offerings. This is your opportunity to evaluate, measure and inspect the property being offered. You can reference the auction catalog and discuss the offerings with the Auction Staff. Having decided which items are of interest, you may bid in person, by absentee, or phone. Our Staff can assist with queries, condition reports, pre-sale estimates, etc. Start planning your strategy! An Absentee Bid Form is found at the rear of every Auction Catalog.

First-time buyers

Bidding at auction is easy and fun. There’s nothing like heading home with a bargain, or that rare object that will complete your collection – or your décor – so perfectly.

2021 auctions have a three to four-day preview in our Auction Gallery. It is your opportunity to browse, inspect, measure and evaluate items of interest with our staff. With over 400 lots each auction, there is plenty to attract your attention!

You attended the preview on Thursday or Friday, and made notes in the margins of your catalog. You know what lots you want, and you know the maximum you are willing to pay.

The Auctioneer offers about 60 lots an hour. He begins with number one in your catalog and continues chronologically.

We accept cash and checks, and most items can be picked up within 5 or 10 minutes after your winning bid!
